For the most up-to-date information, please refer to the content of this article.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"collecting\">Collecting fees<\/h3>\n\n<p>There are three ways to collect fees from ticket sales.&nbsp;The default option is to have all ticket sales collected via your <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/k\/event-tickets-plus-which-ecommerce-solution-is-right-for-you\/\">e-commerce engine<\/a> (WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, or Tickets Commerce). You&nbsp;can then divide up the&nbsp;money as needed.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>With this method,<\/strong> <strong>it is your&nbsp;responsibility as the site admin to pay event organizers&nbsp;<\/strong>&#8211; by whatever method&nbsp;you prefer.&nbsp;You can use the sales data for each event to track how much is owed to the organizer and&nbsp;how much you have earned in fees.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"split\">Split Payments<\/h3>\n\n<p>The other two options are to&nbsp;enable split payments, which divide up each ticket sale according to your fee settings and immediately pay the site admin and the event organizer via PayPal.<\/p>\n\n<p>When tickets are sold, you will automatically receive payments to the PayPal address defined in the settings. &nbsp;The amount you receive depends on the fees you&#8217;ve defined in the main Community Events fee option settings.<\/p>\n\n<p>The event organizer will also receive automatic payments for their part of the sales. With split payments enabled, the organizer will be required to fill in a PayPal address as part of submitting an event. Selecting Payment Options here will take you to a link similar to&nbsp;<samp>http:\/\/yoursite.com\/events\/community\/payment-options.<\/samp><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/payment-options.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1943832\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n<p>The organizer will then fill in their email address tied to their PayPal account and view the <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/k\/community-tickets-ticket-fees\/\">site fees<\/a> as set by the administrator.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/payment-options-email-address.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1943834\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n<div style=\"background: #f3f3f3; border: 1px solid #aaa; padding: 0.6rem 1rem;\"><strong>? Note:<\/strong>If you have enabled <strong>Split Payments<\/strong> but haven&#8217;t finished configuring your PayPal settings, links to reports won&#8217;t show on <strong>My Events<\/strong>.<\/div>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"payouts\">PayPal Payouts API<\/h4>\n\n<p>This is processed separately from your payment gateway. You can use any WooCommerce payment gateway. When the order proceeds to completed status, you will get a payout created and queued up to be paid via PayPal while the remainder of transactions remains with your preferred payment gateway.<\/p>\n\n<p>To learn more on configuring your Payouts API, please see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paypal.com\/us\/smarthelp\/article\/what-is-the-payouts-api-and-how-do-i-enable-it-on-my-account-ts2075\">PayPal&#8217;s support<\/a>.&nbsp; It is worth noting, PayPal doesn&#8217;t implement <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.paypal.com\/docs\/rate-limiting\/\">rate limits<\/a> unless they suspect abusive traffic.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/paypal-settings-in-community-tickets.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1943835\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"flow\">Payouts API Order Flow<\/h5>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1943836\" src=\"\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/payouts-api-order-flow.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1260\" height=\"718\"><\/figure><\/h5>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"trigger\">Triggering the Payouts API<\/h5>\n\n<p>You can trigger the queue processing on-demand by using this <a href=\"https:\/\/wp-cli.org\">WP-CLI<\/a> command:<br><code>wp cron event run tribe_community_tickets_payouts_process<\/code><\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"refunds\">Handling Refunds<\/h5>\n\n<p>To be able to issue refunds, we recommend that you do not mark orders as <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.woocommerce.com\/document\/managing-orders\/\">complete<\/a> until the event occurs. Once an order is marked as complete, payments are sent to organizers. Refunding tickets will not recover the payouts already sent to organizers. You could try to dispute that specific transaction with PayPal and say you did not receive what was paid for. However, we are unable to assist further with this step.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"adaptive\">Deprecated PayPal Adaptive Payments<\/h4>\n\n<p>It&#8217;s important to note that this functionality is currently based on PayPal\u2019s Adaptive Payments API which was recently deprecated. If you do not already have a live, approved Adaptive Payments account then you may no longer be able to acquire one. Paypal is deprecating Adaptive Payments in favor of the Payouts API method.<\/p>\n\n<p>If you already have a live, approved account however then you can enable split payments on the Community settings page. You will need to use a WooCommerce payment gateway that the customer would use to make their purchases.
